ViVa Caps FAQ
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a component found in agricultural hemp as well as cannabis. While both hemp and cannabis are from the same genus and species (cannabis sativa), unlike cannabis, agricultural hemp is not considered “marijuana” under the Controlled Substance Act (CSA) and is regulated by the US Department of Agriculture. According to the United States Farm Bill of 2014, agricultural hemp is classified as containing less than 0.3% THC. Body + Soul’s products use CBD exclusively sourced from organic agricultural hemp that is 3rd party lab-tested to contain less than 0.3% THC, providing all the benefits of CBD without intoxication.
What are the benefits of CBD?
CBD is currently the subject of many scientific studies for its potential benefits. These include use against inflammation, joint or muscle pain, as well as mood elevation and stress/anxiety relief. Due to federal regulations, we cannot make claims about whether or not natural CBD from hemp oil can help with specific ailments. However, we do urge everyone to research the widely available information online to see if CBD is right for you.
How many ViVa Caps should I take a day?
Because what works for one person may not work for another, there is no fixed recommendation. ViVa Caps are meant to be taken as part of a daily routine like a vitamin. Our customers have found that a daily dose of 1-2 capsules taken consistently has been beneficial to a general sense of well-being, while taking an additional 1-2 capsules before or after exercise has resulted in less muscle soreness or joint pain. Our recommendation is to start with 1 capsule taken at the same time every day, and the gauge the amount and repetition that best suits your needs.
So CBD will not get me high?
Getting “high” is the effect of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) which is the psychoactive element in cannabis. ViVa Caps are NOT sourced from cannabis, but from agricultural hemp, a classification which requires that extracted oil contain less than .3% THC. CBD itself is not psychoactive and because we source from agricultural hemp rather than cannabis, our products will not get you “high.” However, our customers do report a general sense of well-being and improved mood when taking ViVa Caps, which is not to be confused with getting high.
Will I fail a drug test taking ViVa Caps?
ViVa Caps are sourced from agricultural hemp containing less than 0.3% THC, meaning there are only trace amounts of THC. However, because customers take different quantities and present different body chemistries, and because different drug tests test for different THC thresholds, we can not make any guarantees in regards to drug tests. We recommend that if you have any concerns, to show the product to your manager/HR, probation officer, etc, and get approval before use.
How do you ensure the quality of your product?
Our CBD oil is lab-tested as soon as it is extracted and then again by a third party lab (Steep Hill) in Berkeley, California for over 200 pesticides, herbicides, mold, fungi, heavy metals, and mycotoxins. We use cutting-edge testing and world-class equipment to ensure the highest quality of our product.
Why use full-spectrum hemp rather than a CBD isolate?
We would never sacrifice quality by providing a synthetic CBD or CBD isolate blend. We source an organic whole plant extract that is rich in cannabinoids such as CBC, CBG, CBDA and CBDV, terpenes, and other beneficial oils, as studies have shown the benefits of an "entourage effect."
What other ingredients are in ViVa Caps?
ViVa Caps feature organic MCT (medium chain triglycerides) oil sourced from coconuts, organic avocado oil and organic hempseed oil. The specific ratio of different natural plant oils was designed to maximize absorption by the body and maximize benefits.
Body + Soul* products containing CBD are sourced from agricultural hemp containing less than 0.3% THC, meaning there are only small trace amounts of THC and the products are not psychoactive. For our topical products, the active ingredients only penetrate the skin and muscular levels and do not enter the bloodstream. However, for our ingestible products, because customers may take large quantities that exceed our recommended daily dose, and because drug test criteria and thresholds can vary, we do not make any guarantees in regards to the potential for a positive result in a drug screen analysis. We recommend that if you have any concerns, to speak with your doctor, probation officer, and/or employer or HR manager before consuming any hemp products and get approval before use.
